About this Opportunity
Are you someone who believes in empowering youth to impact their communities both in Canada and abroad? The organizing committee is looking for a creative and witty Social Media Community Manager. You will be the online voice of TEDxYouth@Toronto, fostering and growing our online community while sharing social insights and metrics.
Overall Responsibilities
- Manage content and monitor conversations on social channels, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube.
- Develop social media strategy and content plan
- Recommend and implement social media campaigns, contests
- Support outreach team in implementing the social component of the outreach plan while ensuring consistent and timely content and messaging
- Work closely with web and design team to ensure consistency in visual elements across all online channels
- Work closely with PR to connect social voice to PR initiatives
- Generate insight and analytics from social channel to support outreach and PR strategies
We are looking for someone who has the following experience/skills:
- Experience with Facebook, Twitter and other popular social media platforms/tools
- Familiarity with social media analytics tool
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills – strong spelling and grammar skills are a must
- Has worked within a non-profit organization/setting in the past (in this role or another)
- Very passionate about community development and youth leadership
- A full-time professional with a completed education or a graduate student
- Excellent interpersonal and organization skills
